Join HSC scientists for a night at the museum

The Fort Worth Science and History Museum is great fun for children, but UNT Health Science Center is partnering with the museum on an entertaining social event for adults.
Visitors 21 and older can enjoy wine or beer from a cash bar and interactive science learning from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, April 1 at the museum鈥檚 Science on Tap event.
Attendees receive a complimentary drink ticket by ordering their tickets prior to the event on the museum鈥檚 Ticket prices are $15 for museum members and $20 for nonmembers.
Three Health Science Center researchers will be among the featured speakers.
- Rita M. Patterson, PhD, Director of Research for Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine. She will speak about fall prevention and allow attendees to test their balance on a BioSway portable balance system.
- Colleen McDowell, PhD, Assistant Professor in the North Texas Eye Institute. She will let attendees experience how glaucoma impacts vision, and lead other activities on optical illusions and how to find your blind spot.
- Haylie Miller, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy. She will speak about the biggest discoveries in the past decade of research into autism spectrum disorder and share new emerging ideas and technologies that may bring about breakthroughs.
