Stephanie Hernandez
Stephanie Hernandez was born and raised in the Los Angeles area in California. She came to Texas in 2007 and is now a proud Texan! She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies and from Southern Methodist University with a Master’s degree in Liberal Studies. She has been working with international students since 2010. Stephanie enjoys learning the different customs and traditions that students bring from their home countries. She seeks to make international students’ experiences in the U.S. as enjoyable as possible. Stephanie is fluent in Spanish and English.
Mayra Garcia
Mayra Garcia serves as International Services Coordinator. Mayra joined Student Affairs in 2016. With her role at ISA, Mayra serves as Designated School Official (DSO) for F-1 students and manages the full F-1 life cycle (initial attendance through OPT) while maintaining all reporting requirements in SEVIS. In addition, Mayra assists students and staff with the coordination of student activities, as well as programming to provide the campus with cross-cultural events. Mayra collaborates and serves as a liaison to other university offices for advocacy efforts related to international students. Mayra obtained a Business Information Technology Associates Degree and is a Certified Medical Assistant. She also holds a NextGen Certification in Electronic Medical Records.
